Prince – ADOPTED

Filed under: Rescued Animals — Amy @ 1:17 pm

Prince’s family moved out of their apartment and left him behind to fend for himself.  He wandered around the complex for a few days and ended up on the doorstep of one of our most awesome volunteers.   He is a wonderful dog.  He is about 2 years old and has a friendly, polite disposition, and good house manners.  He walks well on a leash, knows the sit command, and loves to ride in the car.  He seems to like everyone big and small, including other dogs and cats too.  His foster mom says he is an all around GREAT dog!  He will be neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm tested before adoption.

Clyde – ADOPTED

Filed under: Rescued Animals — Amy @ 9:31 pm

Clyde was rescued from a high-kill shelter. He’s a purebred cocker spaniel.  He was groomed for free by Lori Cox, who made him look very handsome and sweet smelling too.  Thank you, Lori, for donating your time and wonderful services.

Clyde is about 3-4 years old.  He is very gentle and calm. He loves people and is currently living peacefully with several cats in his foster home.  He is crate trained and his foster mom says he hardly ever barks.  He enjoys the outdoors, so a home with a secure, fenced-in yard would be ideal for him.

Thanks to Corina for fostering (and spoiling) him!

We do not have a picture of him after he was groomed, but this picture was taken in the pound the day we rescued him. He is much happier now!

Scarlett was rescued from a high-kill shelter. She is about a year and a half old, and very sweet. She is crate trained, and loves people and other dogs.  She is some sort of small terrier, possibly a scottie or schnauzer mix.   She is full grown at about 10-12 pounds and has a scruffy,  non-shedding coat.  She is a quiet, gentle dog who likes to be in a lap.

Angie – ADOPTED

Filed under: Rescued Animals — Amy @ 3:34 pm

Angie is about a year old. Our groomer tells us she is a purebred bichon. We found her at the pound with a broken leg. Her leg has been fixed, and will need 3-4 weeks recovery time. While she was having her leg repaired we had her spayed. She has been vaccinated too, and tested negative for heartworms. Angie is very loving, gentle and friendly. Despite her leg being in a cast, she enjoys a good romp in the yard and is always ready to play. She is living with other dogs and cats in her foster home and gets along very well with all. She would be happiest in a home where she has another dog to play with. Please email info@petsintransition.org if you are interested. Adoption application and fee apply.

Dixie- ADOPTED

Filed under: Rescued Animals — Amy @ 3:20 am

Dixie is at the Vidor pound, and her time is very limited.  This is a GREAT dog.  She is so well behaved that Linda, the world’s best animal control officer, has been keeping her in the office with her.  Dixie is a typical happy-go-lucky lab, always has a ball or a toy in her mouth.  But, she has a very unique trait – she literally smiles when she greets you. It’s very special.  We are out of foster space and cannot pull her.  If you can foster her, or are interested in adopting her, please email info@petsintransition.org.  You will be saving her life.

Nijah – ADOPTED

Filed under: Rescued Animals — Amy @ 7:51 pm

Have you ever seen an orange-eyed cat?  Nijah has the most unusual eyes – a beautiful orange color.  She was rescued from the pound, and is about 4-5 months old.  She tested negative for all kitty diseases, and she has been spayed and vaccinated.  She is very vocal, and sounds as though she is conversing rather than just meowing.  She is one of a kind!  She likes other cats and does fine with dogs.  She is very social and loves people.  Please email amy@petsintransition.org if you are interested in giving her a forever home.

Onyx, Chachi and Chessie- ADOPTED

Filed under: Rescued Animals — Amy @ 11:38 am

A local pound called us for help with these three.  Their owners signed them over to the city to avoid criminal charges.  These pictures were taken just moments after we got them out of the pound.  We will post more information and updated pictures soon.  They are very friendly, and Chessie, the smallest one weighs only 3 pounds 4 ounces!  DSC_0685DSC_0686DSC_0692DSC_0693DSC_0694DSC_0691Contact amy@e-medico.com if you are interested.
